Thank You Guys So Much!
The absolute support my readers have given me is so amazing. When I made the decisions about my fanfictions, I had no idea what to expect. I know now that it was the best decision I made.
I am going to change a few things since I was new to this:
Due Dates: The longer it takes to get to an update, the farther the update will remain in the line. That way the books that are constantly getting shown support have much slower wait times.
Chapters Can be written ahead of time: If I had a chapter scheduled to be done later and it’s actually done sooner, then I will release it early, that way I can continue the stories next chapter.
Data doesn’t match: The Data between what is publically shown and what is in statistics doesn’t always match. I didn’t realize that at first. The next go rounds with updates, I will be making the conditions fit so that the conditions are seen by everyone: Only Hits, Kudos, Comments, and Bookmarks. Comment threads also got mixed up with comments because of the different data so that askewed my data too.
To get a new update, it will be something only one person has to do: 1 kudo, 1 comment, or 1 bookmark. That way readers of smaller categories can still support the book they love and want to read. It might be a little while til you get a new chapter, but when it’s ready, then it would automatically be released.
To get a new chapter takes more than one person, or the process of time: I am probably going to make these like 5 kudos, 5 comments, or 5 bookmarks. This gives me the motivation to write on chapters. The process of time is the hit points. It tells me even if it is slow that people are still clicking and reading.
I still follow my current passion: It is absolutely possible to get free chapters without hitting marks just because I want to share the latest thing I wrote for it. It’s also the reason that to get a new update should just take the power of one person wanting it. If I have something already, then it should be easier to get it up and out there. This is especially important so that smaller fandoms still get to move.
The better a story does, the more likely I will stick and just finish it: Let’s face it. I love all of my stories, but people love support. I am no different. It’s the reason my BEETLE3JUICE usually gets a new chapter or 2 or 4 after just 2-3 days. There is soooo much support, I don’t even need to throw in any statistics to see how much it’s getting ready. There is a very good chance it will actually end up in my top five greatest stories section before it’s all said and done.
My Bluesky is how I should communicate more often: I am still not that used to social media, and even though I can’t share everything, using socials does let people come back here to see what’s going on. I’d like to have a nice big post showing the progress marks of what is happening with my stories, for example. Things like Bluesky are allowed to be on display at fanfiction sites, so I think I am going to start using this one in particular. I do have more, but I know myself too. I will eventually use some Pinterest, and I do have Instagram that I haven’t really started yet.
Let’s just start with Bluesky and then I’ll take it from there.
I need to update six chapters at least before I make any statistics for a story: This ensures that if one person does like a story, that commenting on each chapter, would still let them get another chapter to start a journey.
Some stories are at a disadvantage, and I will schedule them another published day: A lot of the stories just had the conditions amended on the last chapter. Some had readers freshly reading it and see that condition. Others have been there weeks/months/years so that isn’t quite as fair. I didn’t want to just write something quick for each story, I don’t write my chapters this way.
I do see that unfairness though, so after I get up the rest of my stuff (Yes, I am still posting over more stuff), then I will concentrate on getting those things new chapters so they get a fair look too.
Last but not least, I used to be more conversational: Looking at my ancient work, I was a lot more conversational. It does make sense why. Some things like replies to comments don’t need to be used anymore, but I think I am going to start being more appreciative as well like I used to be. From this day onward, I am going to take note of certain things like the people who supported the chapters and such like I used to. I’m going to be telling you about other things I’m doing and writing. Just a basic little life catch me up, so you know what to expect down the line.
Anyhow, this journey so far has been incredible. I can even see smaller areas I didn’t think would get any support get that important obsessive reader here and there. One obsessive reader can do a lot sometimes. Never doubt that.
