It Feels Kind of Crazy, But Right
It’s been a long time since I went to social media again. I had no idea where to start, but I think my daughter and a little research showed me where I would be the most comfortable at.
Now, I have no idea about unspoken rules or etiquette about all these different places. The social I knew was at the beginning of Facebook and Twitter and even myspace.@.@
Even when I tried to get on it, I didn’t know what to say. Last time, I had a lot of things wrong with my life. It was pleasant and great, but it was wrong. Now that my life is way worse financially, I am free from all the burden that was there before. I have been getting a lot better at communication, and I really need to find a place to connect to others now.
This world is about connection. Children grew with social media. You can’t completely cut it out of you, you make connections in the online world that is different in reality. It’s where I reach people with the same kind of interests I have. It’s how we connect and know what’s out there.
It’s not really as much of a choice, just where I choose to hang my hat. From what I feel is comfortable, I have taken these socials.
Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/authorserenawalken/ A place to put my books, interests, and kittens! No words to goof up.:) Definitely a place to find really cool stuff I love too.
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/authorserenawalken/ A place to put my books, interests and kittens! I think just more popular since I hear of it more. From what I see, these two sites can get along with one another. Like, Instagram can use Pinterest stuff to link to other places. Once again, no words to goof up.:)
Tumblr: https://www.tumblr.com/authorserenawalken This will be an interesting journey. I always liked using Tumblr, but I never actually blogged or commented much, just read the lovely Undertale Comics that were posting. Anyhow, I think this one will be okay. It is a mixture of words and picture. I think that’s nice.
Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/authorserenawalken.bsky.social Here is where I speak. I finally found a place that reminds me of my early Twitter days. I hope I can do better here.
I really hope with the addition of social media, I can actually get to know people who read my books. Show that authors can be everywhere, original and fanfiction world, it does not have to be one or the other. Find talented artists and craftsmen that make cool things that I am into. I also just want to make some online friends that share similar interests and this time really grow where society is heading, instead of choosing to stay isolated.
I think I can. I hope I can. I have learned to open up in the real world. Let’s see if I can navigate the interesting paths of the online world.
